Anna Maria Anders is a Polish-American politician, author, and businesswoman. She was born on August 8, 1950, in Gdynia, Poland. She moved to the United States in 1980, where she became a naturalized citizen in 1988. Anders is the daughter of General Władysław Anders, a Polish Army commander during World War II. She is a graduate of the University of Warsaw and holds a doctorate in economics.
Anders has served as a deputy minister in the Polish government and is currently a member of the United States' Advisory Commission on Public Diplomacy. She is also the founder and president of the "Foundation for Polish Science and Culture". In addition to her political career, Anders is a published author with several books on Polish history and politics.
Anna Maria Anders is widely recognized for her work in strengthening the relationship between the United States and Poland, as well as promoting Poland's cultural heritage and economic development. She has received numerous awards for her contributions, including the Commander's Cross with Star of the Order of Merit of the Republic of Poland and the Bene Merito honorary distinction from the Ministry of Foreign Affairs of the Republic of Poland.
